Hi! My young family and I moved to Kuna, sight unseen, in August 2025. We have greatly enjoyed living here and becoming part of this community! My husband and I grew up in central Kansas then spent about 5 years in the Kansas City area while I completed my Bachelor and Doctorate degrees. I recieved my bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from MidAmerica Nazarene University while playing softball in May 2021. I graduated with my Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Cleveland University - Kansas City in December 2024. From there, I began a practice in our home in Missouri while awaiting the arrival of our second baby and completed my course work/exams for Webster (Prenatal) and Pediatric (C.A.C.C.P) Certifications through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). I am also adding additional measures and systems to truly focus on nervous system health and support through Px Docs. Chiropractic care has been apart of my entire life: childhood wellness, teenage sports, fertility health, prenatally, and post partum. I have also had the beautiful experience of providing chiropractic care for my children starting when they were hours old. Supporting myself and my family with nervous system based chiropractic care is a must in our home and I look forward to providing in for your family as well!

Balanced Family Chiropractic and Wellness was born from a deep passion for holistic and patient-centered wellness. Nervous system focused chiropractic care centers around the nervous system being in control of all other bodily systems. We use a 3-part scanning system to looking at the health and adaptibility of your nervous system. Understanding that the state and adaptability of your nervous system is directly impacted by the amount of 'stress' your nervous system is currently combatting and has compounded overtime. We can also assess if you're nervous system is 'stuck' in a specific state hindering optimal function. At Balanced Family, we focus on supporting the nervous system to allow more resilsiency and adaptibility. No, Balanced Family Chiropractic and Wellness it not in-network with any insurance companies. We will provide a superbill to patients upon request to submit to thier insurance company on their own. With insurnace companies dictating care, reducing reimbursements/coverages, and the extensive in-office billing process - our small office has decided to go forward in this manner. We can help find an office that does accept your insurance, but we can not ensure their care is similar to ours or that they share the same education and certifications. Absolutely NOT! Infant adjustments are comparable to the amount of pressure you would touch your eye with - yes, your actual eyeball. Adjustment force very gradually increases from there into adulthood; however, Dr. Shelby believes the most gentle, yet effective apporach is best for the nervous system no matter age!
